New Mangrove - Request for Info

lbakman Jan 03, 2009 08:39 PM

Obtained a new male today - approx 4.5-5 feet...I was hoping some of you who keep them can share with me what type of caging your using as well as temp gradients and humidity levels ...I am not new to genus but it has been quite a long time since I've kept one....He is supposedly LTC at least nine months, but seems extremely lethargic particularly for a boiga....Any info or input would be appreciated

Very nice looking snake! Lethargy during the day is normal..I do all cleaning and interactions during the day...30 minutes after lights out they are a completely different snake! Also, my females are much more tempermental than are my males.

I have mine in Barrs cages, basically 24" cubes. I have an elevated hide near the heat panel and one on the ground..temps up high are set at 84F and drop to 78F on the ground...most of the time they're up high. Humidity stays around 70%. My big ones are fed 1 med. rat a week and the younger snakes take 1-2 med. mice.
