So how does the "tangerine" phase work?

classdwhite Jan 03, 2009 11:08 PM

So im a little confused as to how the tangerine phase works. Lets say you breed a tangerine het albino to a tricolor albino, can you expect to get tangerine albinos from this pairing?

The same with 2 tricolor albinos breeding, would all the offspring be tricolors or could a tangerine pop up?

I've had an occasional tricolor come out of a tangerine x tangerine breeding. I do not consider tangerine and tricolor simple recessive genetic traits, but instead they act as traits that when a tricolor and tangerine are bred you usually get tricolors, tangerines and a few "in between" types (like "peach phase" albinos).
