INDOPIA (Noida, India) 03 January 09 Indore girl adopts Van Vihar's python
Bhopal: A college girl from Indore has become the first person to adopt a python under the Van Vihar National Park Animal Adoption Schem launched recently to generate awarness among people about wildlife.
The girl, Abhinita Das, who is doing her LLB course from Indore Devi Ahilyabai University, adopted the python, a rare choice. She considers that snakes are not as dangerous as they are made out to be, the park sources said today.
Incidently, the python adopted by her was caught from the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan official residence situated on the Shamla Hills near to the drying upper lake of Bhopal and also the Van Vihar.
The snake was caught by Salim Bhai, whose name automatically comes in the minds of the people whenever they spot a snake in the capital city.
The animal adoption scheme has drawn positive response from the people as many of them were enquiring about it, they said.
Under the scheme, animals can be adopted for a month, three months, six months or a year by an individual for a price.
The scheme also allows six members of a person, who adopts the animal, free entry into the national park once a week, the sources added.
