Pics of vanishing pattern albino hondo?

pfan151 Jan 04, 2009 10:42 PM

I picked up a few different Hondo's last year just because years ago when I saw my first Albino Hondo at the Daytona show (Orlando show at the time) I was blown away and decided I had to have them one day. I bought a tangerine albino and some hets, a pair of Double hets for hypo and albino, and a pair of vanishing pattern hypo's. I am starting to think about breeding and I am thinking a vanishing pattern hypo albino should be insane but I have not been able to find any pics online. I am sure someone must have made these so please post a pic if you have them. Thanks.

John, v.p. albinos are pretty cool for sure.Problem is, when you say that a v.p. hybino should look insane you really won't even know its a hybino over a albino unless the parents that produce it are both hypo.My point is that regardless if its a albino or hybino it would look pretty much the same and with it being v.p. thats just cool.

Off subject, but what is main difference between a tangerine albino and a hybino? Also what must the breeders be to produce either one? Probably read answer somewhere on this forum but can't find it.

Thanks,

Mike

Mike, in order for a albino to be a hybino it must be visual hypo and visual albino at the same time.Like a ghost is anery and hypo and a snow is anery and albino. Its just another double homozygous.
The fact that the hypo is masked by the amel gene is the problem.Sometimes you can kinda make a good guess if its a hybino cause they seem to have a more faded look to them from the hypo gene. But, there are so many different looks in the hypo world that allot of hybinos don't look any different than a normal albino.
The key to knowing you have a hybino is if both parents are hypo. When both parents are hypo and the snake hatches out albino then it has to be hybino. No questions at all.Thats why you will see the terms ( visual) hybino or known hybino.
In the early stages of these projects you had to just cross your fingers cause only about 1 in 16 would come out hybino vs. albino in a double het to double het breeding.

Hope this helps.
Shannon

p.s. this is a 100% hybino I produced this year. Both its parents are hypo and its a tri-color to boot so its really cool looking.

Thanks. I got the big picture, but not the snake.

John:

This might be what you are looking for. It's a vanishing pattern albino that is also a likely hybino.
