triple recessive??

brick1 Jan 05, 2009 08:21 AM

just a query, cos been trying to work it out in my head. Have any triple recessive balls been produced yet?? if so, when should we first see one? im guessing it must involve, albino and axantic as the snow i think was the first double recessive visual. Are people working on these. or are the odds of hitting it so remote, that people arent trying yet?

just fuel for thought, im bored

BHB made Ghost Pieds and a few other double rec but I don't know about triple. They have already made triple co-dom morphs and I wouldn't doubt a quad.

As far as i can work out these are the following double recessives. I cant get into my head though, how many generations it takes to get a triple recessive visual , as i guess you cant do it by breeding tri het x tri het, unless you good at playing the lottery, as thats a 1 in 64 chance. So to make it easier, you would want to produce visuals DH, but then they would need proving out first. ah too confusing!!
Albino clown
albino pied
Dreamsicle
caramel glow
genetic stripe ghost? not sure about this one
snow
caramel clown
ghost pied

as for the co doms
the emperor pin is a quad isnt it?
and you got to wonder what animals like the Soul Sucker contain
guess this season you could even see 5 co dom genes mixed into an animal
given the right breedings
but i can even work out the odds for that one

"guess this season you could even see 5 co dom genes mixed into an animal

It's already been done . Don't know if I should say much more though lol.

Brock Wagner had a post on Bp.net of a caramel glow breeding with a genetic stripe to produce triple het babies.

No visual triple recessive have been made, the 1 in 64 odds are steep BUT the residual animals from a triple het pairing will get you there one day, I am personnaly working towards Pied Caramel Glows

brick1 Jan 05, 2009 11:20 AM

that would be pretty sweet looking
how will you go about trying to get this animal though, will you cross offspring back to the parents first, to see who carries what? i mean i can see someone keeping a whole rack of DHs back, so they can increase their chances, but with tri hets, guess it a bit like getting 10 lines instead of one in the lottery, really aint gonna make that much difference

Any visual from triple het pairing will be 66% het for the other two genes, once you have lets say, a Pied double Het-Caramel Glow and a Hypo Het-Pied Caramel, the odds then are much more potent and hitting the triple recessive much greater

Can we say very long term project.

CrazyGecko Jan 05, 2009 11:50 AM

I saw a post on BP forums with a pic of someone making tripple hets. Caramel glow to a genetic stripe. I bet the visual triple there is one sexy snake.

brick1 Jan 05, 2009 12:01 PM

i wonder if anyones is close then to breeding triple hets, i guess if you started with say a snow x pied (though i guess the problem then, is the combined value of these two snakes back then is so much, you would be wanting to just produce more visual straight up), you would almost be there. Guess already enough white snakes out there

This is why I only have one rec project going on, lol. Being that you can get visuals on the first breeding of co-doms it just seems alot easier and I'm not in it for the money so it doesn't really matter how long it takes.

That was Brock Wagner..It was a Caramel Glow to a Genitic Stripe...Its going to be amazing ...

CrazyGecko Jan 05, 2009 02:06 PM

yeah I have to agree its going to be an amazing snake if he hits the lottery. I hope he does.

saintz Jan 05, 2009 02:19 PM

I am remembering watching a podcast with Kevin from NERD in it discussing the the Inferno Ball. In which he stated that it was a visual triple recessive morph. Also remembered him stating that he was working with other triple hets and possibly even quadra hets. It was on Kingsnake as a featured interview. If I am wrong feel free to correct me.

I was sure someone was as well but I couldn't remember who.

You are right BUT NERDBoy was talking about triple and quad dominant/co-dominant combos.

Was this the show he played guitar 3/4 of the time...

No Guitar. He was standing in front of his booth at a show.
