Thank you Eve your support is much appreciated.

Lol, now just to convince the wife, perhaps if we make the trip to visit the gentleman we talked with about snakes.

PHEve Jan 06, 2009 12:55 PM

your wife, tell her when you sell some youngster snakes after breeding successfully she can reap some of the benifits and get a nice NEW ....???.... WHATEVER SHE CHOOSES, LMAO or would that be a dangerous scarey deal on your part, hahahahahhaa

Rofl not really scary, what would be scary is the money that can be made from selling them. Guess I'd become that farmer I'd always wanted to be, rofl, just alot smaller than the cattle I used to wrangle as a teen.

Wives come around eventually. Mine actually talked me into the last few snake purchases when she went to a show with me.

Two things NOT to do though:

1. When she came home from work one day and saw the dog scratching at a rug, she looked under the rug and found the "escaped" snake that I had been secretly looking for all day! Boy did I get a look.

2. I came home from a trip with a baby python in my bag that I shamelessly and illegally "smuggled". I looked at her and said "look what I got!". I got the same look.

Nevertheless, after so many years I think she has developed a secret. unspoken love for them.

But what happens when you're the wife?? Actually, my husband is quite fond of the lizards (though he'd never keep them on his own). He just likes that I like them, so is willing to put up with a dozen cages.

Lol, the next question is which one were you at that particular booth and it was my pleasure. Such a cool little beardie, ummm any food fights aka tugawars yet??

wwwwwells Jan 07, 2009 08:31 AM

I was planning on going to that show but my wife was against driving 12 hours round trip and having to get a hotel. Kind of a bad time of the year for collareds but I bet there was a ton of ball pythons. Did you notice many rosy boas?

Boost Jan 07, 2009 02:11 PM

I believe so W there were so many different constrictor snakes there with very odd names. I know the taxonomy can get rather involved and complicated but some of the names of what appeared to be a lemon boa was named something rather confusing. In order of frequency of reptiles/snakes at the show I would say:

Snakes

Geckos

Bearded Dragons

The San Diego reptile/snake rescue even had a few seven foot snakes the two I did see were both pythons, I didn't get photo's of them due to the crowd.
