More Red Axanthic Pics

Corey Woods Sep 09, 2003 04:20 PM

When they Red Axanthics are born they have purple hues to them....I believe that they have red pigment, hence the name Red Axanthic. The long name is Woods Line Red Axanthic Black Back......but Red Axanthic is easier to say. I really like these guys. As they mature they turn the colour of the palm of your hand.....it's really weird! Anyways, here are some pics.

Adult male taken at 2 years old.

Corey; those pics should definitely quiet down any nay-sayers as to the beauty and legitimacy of your Red Axanthics. Very nice, and even nicer in person.

Thank you Mr. Woods! Well, I loved those pictures! They sure cleared things up. They are very nice. Too bad they're unaffordable for the "regular joe" such as myself Wish ya the best of luck with them.

Best Wishes,
Bristen.

I think they look MUCH better then that. I personally have never been much of a fan of the classic axanthic look. I think they look like boring/ugly old blackish brown/grey snakes. Yes even the VPI line which most consider to be the best of the axanthics. But these look NICE. I mean they look REALLY nice. The patterning alone holds my interest and the adult color is excitingly different. Also since these appear to be a co-dominant morph(a REAL PROVEN co-dominant morph, not just slapping on the co-dominant label in the hopes of a higher price) They should combine with other morphs in some very exciting ways (think black back pastels with supers that are out of this world) Thank you for the pictures.

they are currently advertised for $15,000.00USD or $22,500.00CND... but if that's too pricey, don't worry you can by 50% hets for about $6,000.00USD or $9,000.00CDN.. ha! You'll need deep pockets for these for now

Best Wishes,
Bristen.

Actually since they seem to be co-dominant, there are no 50% hets. I've seen the black back form (the hets) advertised on Ralphs web site for $5000.00 It's really not that bad of a price for such a new project. If I had that much ready cash on hand right now, I'd probably get one myself.

well Mark, I may never have that much money $5,000.00USD is better than $6,000.00USD but still way over my "regular joe" budget for snakes. But you are correct, it wouldn't be a very big investment to start a project with them. They are much more within reach than other morphs, that's for sure.

Bristen.
