I've always wanted a pair of these and this year I was able to get them, with some help. They are an 07 pair of striped situla, Greek locallity. First two pics are of the female(swollen from small mouse). Second pic is of the male. Thanks Lloyd, they're great.

Those are awesome. Do Leopard Rats require any specialized care. The only thing I really know about them is that they have small clutches of large sized babies. Any special temp requirements??? They are beautiful animals. Congrats!

They do like it a little on the cool side, mid 70's with a hot spot around 80. I have kept them at room temp. so far. Most of the snakes that I work with or plan on breeding in the future fall into this category. I like the montane species. The leopard rats also prefer small meals(fuzzies or hoppers). The male hasn't eaten for me yet as he was in a shed when I got him. I'm going to try soon because he just shed yesterday. The female has eaten twice for me already. They seem to process mice pretty quickly.

Thanks Matt- I had a feeling they might perfer it on the cooler side. I keep mainly corns, kings and a few US rats- my snake room would stay a tad too warm for them I guess. I understand about the montane stuff, I keep montane rattlers- moved the cages to the living room to help keep temps down for them. I'd kill for a herp building where I could have different rooms.

Anyways- thanks agian and good luck- they are real "lookers"- beautiful animals!
