mastino177 Sep 09, 2003 04:35 PM

just wanted to know which is better...the spot with a seperate uv light and red light at night...or the mercury bulbs. i've heard a lot of talk on this forum about it, but just do not know what to and not to expect. does anyone have any idea about growth charts...and any reptile shows near atlanta ga.

I have some growth charts posted on my site. Reiko was kind enough to gather the info and send it to me along with photos of her dragons. Just click on the link below then click on Growth Charts.

I love the mercury vapor UVB and heat bulbs. I am going to start testing the UVB output of one this week. You can also get results of that test on my website - just click on Project UVB.

As long as your beardie is getting the proper heat and uv light either one will do. I'm tending to lean towards replacing my heat light and uv light with a mercury light just for the fact I would reduce the sockets and outlets I'm using.

As for the red light, I think you only need that if the temps drop too low at night.
