I have both these mutations. These ARE NOT compatible genes. Here are some pics showing both mutations side by side. Can you see the difference? Can you guess which is which?

Interesting post, from what I think of when I see anery I would say the second one would be anery, however why would you list them in the same order as your post? To me the top one shows more yellow but that could be from this tiny screen of mine 6"
.. The bottom shows a darker gray color the anery?

Great comparison and proves my point. Anerys are anerys. Both those look similar and i bet the whiter looking one has some darker siblings making it nearly impossible for someone to tell which anery gene is compatiple and which is not.
Here are some pics of ANERYthristics.Unfortunatly I only saved pics of the nicer cleaner ones but many siblings rurned out more dark and muddied up. I just did not save pictures of those. They were ugly.
Can anyone tell the difference bewteen the ones that are allelic and the ones that are not?
These juviniles also darken quite a bit with age so a lot of the white color fades into the darker color.* see bottom pic of adult*
Notice the eyes are a light color when compared to pure axanthics. Some of these are crossed axanthic and anerys and the look is inbetween.
AXANTHIC:
This is a cross between the New England axanthic and Lemke axanthic. Exactly 50/50 and pure non-outcrossed lines.
RESULT OF CROSSING AN ANERY WITH AN AXANTHIC:
New England "axanthic" and Anery:
Ummm
All your "Anerys" are Anery Not sure about the 1st snake pictured but from the 2nd pic until the NE/lemke cross they are ALL ANERY.
Your lemke/NE cross is an axanthic obviously
So here's the problem:
Your lemke/NE cross and the Anery X NE Axanthic Cross are the same snake.
Just look @ the head pattern: Let me help you get a better look...

"My Own Worst Enemy"
Ummm

THATS RIGHT THEY ARE ALL ANERYS!~. however that was the first thing I posted on the thread: Quote: "Here are some pics of ANERYthristics."
I think some people are losing the point of this whole arguement
What I am saying is that hobbiests have been breeding the northern floridana (aka anerys stock) to the southern Floridana (aka Brooksi stock) for years and have been getting everything else and inbetween that are anery or axanthic looking snakes. Just because BHB got an anery that is subsequently not allelic with the others does not make all the others axanthic. There were anerys before the BHB strain and there still are. Changing the terms around does not work. I think a better way would have been to just call them anery or axanthic type B or something. .
Your lemke/NE cross is an axanthic obviously
Correct. Just as i labeled it above the pic. The NE and Lemke are both pure south florida locales.
So here's the problem:
Your lemke/NE cross and the Anery X NE Axanthic Cross are the same snake.

Heck ya you are right about that. i made a mistake.
Some of the pics are from as far back as 2003. Still it does not make a difference as to what an anery is. Heck there are Cal king albinos that are not allelic. DOES THAT MEAN THERE IS ONLY ONE BRAND OF cALIF KING ALBINO AND THE REST ARE SOMETHING ELSE?-Thats's how ridiculous your arguements are.
The anery or axanthic designation means nothing except way for herpetoculturists to tell the difference ebweteen the two visual forms. I started this by calling the uglier darker northern floridana axanthics 'anerys'. Now that there is a new unrelated trait does not make all the rest axanthic.
Both the terms axanthic and anery can be used interchagably. So it is not an exact science. The older version of aneyr vs axanthic apllies the same way but at least it has been around longer.
let me ask you this Zenny. Have you ever bred a anery to a "axanthic' yourself? If not do you know anyone that has? The only report I have heard is from the Rick trenny stock and that was right before he passed away. Way before then ( around 1995-96) I went to a show in Ohio and bought a anery from BHB Enterprises. This year i will breed that snake to axanthic Ghosts and see what happens.
This is the snake I got from BHB. She is a female
.
I didn't think you had any proof or wanted to wager on this. This was twice I asked you and you refused to respond.
1) did you ever breed an anery to a axanthic and how many people do you know that have and got double hets?
2) If I breed the anery I pictured to a axanthic Lemeke Ghost and I get anerys what will you say then?
I'll entertain the buzzing!
1) did you ever breed an anery to a axanthic and how many people do you know that have and got double hets?
I've Never bred Axanthic to Anery... i don't need to. it doesn't take a genius to see they are different (Visually and genetically)
*** If you were to read your original post you said that some of your Anerys were anery/axanthic crosses... just a "by the way"***
do i know anyone who has... for like the 3rd time i will repeat this story
Dave B wanted to produce some Axanthics double het Lavender and White-sided.
He bred an AXANTHIC white sided male (currently owned by Greg V) to a Snow female (currently owned by Mark K.)
So again the Expected results were All Axantic 2x het Lavender and White-sided.
The ACTUAL result was TWO Axanthic and the rest of the clutch were NORMAL HETS!
OBVIOUSLY The WS was Axanthic and the Snow an Anery-Lav 2x HomoZ (het axanthic.)
I Own one of the AXANTHICS from that breeding... she was pictured earlier an Axanthic (3x het Anery, Lav & WS)
2) If I breed the anery I pictured to a axanthic Lemeke Ghost and I get anerys what will you say then?
I don't need you to prove anything to me... i mean if you can get All Jellies from Jelly x Jelly then get Jellies, PBs, Amel t-'s, and "Some other forms" from another Jelly x Jelly breeding... who knows what you're able to "cook up" in the "workshop"
Now Please... go away!
OBVIOUSLY The WS was Axanthic and the Snow an Anery-Lav 2x HomoZ (het axanthic.)
Oh okay now I see your point. LOL!
others.....

Surrender Dorothy!
Very cool pic Mark.
Axanthic on the left and Anery on the right!!!!
thanx 4 sharing.

Well the Anery's the one on top, the axanthic is the bottom one. It's harder to capture the blue-ish color on hatchling axanthic than on axanthics that are slightly older. but anerys are very easy to spot... they are black and white.
~Z
I think the chain pattern is thicker than on Axanthics too. Making them more Floridana-y.

The top looks like BHB Anery to me, which I believe he called Floridana and never Brooksi. But don't quote me, I hate that,....

Top is anery...no reds but you can still distinguish some yellow.
Bottom is axanthic...no yellows present.
