Pac Man Frog

I posted before about my frog (Dobbins) and his behavior. He has become accustomed to bury himself completely under the substrate (5 inches of bed a beast), so that I can't see him at all. He stays under there, and I find myself having to move some of the substrate aside to feed him so that he can see the crickets. When I do that he's awake and moves around a little, but then just goes and buries himself again. Is this normal? Is it ok to never see my frog, and to move the substrate off of him to feed him? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The tank is kept at around 80 degrees, and cools down a little at night.

I do the exact same thing with my frog. It burrows just like yours and mine seems healthy. If it eats regulary its probably fine
