Some wintertime fun in the studio/quiz

Some wintertime fun in the studio and an alterna quiz!

Well, it’s that time of year again….cold days, even colder nights…..not much to other than in-house photography…..I wanted to check out some new equipment….I recently purchased a Photoflex Starflash 300….wanted to see what it could do….

Here are some Gray-banded Kingsnakes: both captive-bred and wild-caught….for kudos points, let’s see if you can tell the locales:

Huge hint to get you started: 4 are from Sanderson, 2 are from Highway 277, 2 are from the Hueco Mountains, 1 is from the Davis Mountains, and 1 is from the Christmas Mountains….good luck!

Not that winter is totally bad! It is the season for falconry and I got a chance to take some shots of a friend’s cool Barbary Falcon at work:

1,3,5,6 - Sanderson
2,9 - Hwy 277
4,7 - Hueco
8 - Xmas
10 - Davis

Although I debated switching 2 and 6 respectively, I'll be honest with my original picks. I'm pretty sure I should of switched the two.

6 277

Did you happen to get my message about falconry a few days ago? If it didn't go through let me know on here or message me and I'll try again, thanks.

Well, time for the correct answers:

Numbers 1,2, 3, and 5 are from Sanderson

Numbers 4 and 7 are from the Hueco Mountains

Numbers 6 and 9 are from Highway 277

Number 8: Christmas Mountains

Number 10: Davis Mountains

Congrats to those who responded correctly (most of you either were 100% correct or missing only two)...A special congrats to Bob H. who responded in record time!

I don't have a studio flash yet... i was looking at alien bees but heard the printed specs were nothing approaching reality. For some reason your images didn't show up, but if you have a piece of gear like that, I have to think you're more than a casual photographer. Any regrets?
