Woma freaking out

Guttersnacks Jan 10, 2009 10:40 AM

I've been forced to put my entire collection down for the winter. I have stuff that I want to breed in the spring (rats and kings), and cant separate out all the other stuff I wanted to put some size on and keep warm, so....my whole snake room is set at 60* F right now.

I'll occasionally stop in to make sure all is going well in there and I've noticed something that bugs me a bit. My woma is freaking out. He's usually calm and laid back, mostly bundled up inside the huge piece of bark I have in there, but since the rooms been cooled, he's sometimes found out and about, and is quite jumpy, flailing his body around and striking at the glass when I walk nearby. He seems quite stressed.
What kinds of things might trigger this?

I wouldn't take any boa or python down to 60 degrees for any length of time. A woma is still a tropical animal.

What kind of things might trigger stress????

I don't know maybe being at completely inappropriate temperatures...

I don't know squat about womas but I know that 60 degrees 24/7 is way too cold.

There are very real logistical problems with keeping species with different needs in the same room. Move him out.
