If I had say 250-500, I would look at a REAL nice 0.1 Pastel, 0.1 Albino, 1.0 Leisen Line Black pastel or a couple female Pins and YB's

If I had 500-1000 to spend I would get a Real nice 0.1 Super pastel, 0.1 Fire, 0.1 Sable, 0.1 Vanilla, 0.1 Textbook Enchi.

It just really depends on what YOU like and what you plan on doing with the snakes down the line. All i can recommend is research, research, research when it comes time to make the decision! Good luck!

well when it comes to ball python morphs..only a few are quite inexpensive these days.. Pastel, Mojave, Spider, pretty much codoms.. Hets (100%) are also fairly inexpensive for common recessives, especially males.

Right now I don't have any money to even buy a captive hatched normal ball python...though I do want to buy either het pieds or a spider..once I have the money.

If I could only buy one of the lesser expensive morphs, I would buy a mojave. You could breed the mojave to a normal and get more mojaves. Then breed mojave to mojave and maybe get a Blue Eye Lucy. With a mojave you can eventually get two totally different looking morphs with only having to buy one. And if you don't like the Blue Eye Lucys then you could sell or trade them for more snakes and more snakes and more snakes and more snakes.......

Thats my idea right here, I'd just like an adult female pastel or normal to breed with mine.

Set me straight on this, because I do like the Lucy's. I thought it was if you cross a Fire with a Fire you would get a Black Eye Lucy, but if you cross a Mojave with a Mojave you get a Blue Eye Lucy??? I didn't think you would get a Lucy with the Mojave's because a while back I mentioned to someone that a Mojave X Mojave you might get a Lucy, but they said "No".

So I was going to invest in a couple of Fires, but I love the looks of the Mojaves, and if that's the case I would start looking at the Mojave Balls.

Thanks...

Who ever told you that mojave x mojave would not produce blue eyed leucys was wrong. If you cross mojave x mojave you get super mojave ie bel. Fire x fire will get you black eyed leucistic, lesser x mojave = bel, butter x lesser = bel, vin russo het x fire = black eyed leucy yb x yb = ivory and on and on and on . . . . . . There are a lot of combos that will get you to bel's

Answer on the snake to buy I would go mojave.

Thanks for the correction I thought the vin x fire had been done, I did not know as well about them producing bels instead of black eye leucys. Again thanks for the correction

I would get a spider, pinstripe or a mojave. All of those snakes you can find for under $400 or even $300 if you look hard. If you were looking to breed the snakes you could get a HET pair of albinos for under $300 or HET orange ghosts for under $400.

Hope that helps
