She's looking great Brendan. Looks like she's coming along nicely and putting on some good size. I can't wait to see what she produces. You can always kick a few of her offspring my way.

By far my favorite morph! I currently have 9 in my collection.

skyslinger Jan 14, 2009 01:29 PM

couple dozen patternless laying around! That beautiful "blush" face is quite typical of the Harlequin line. Brendan and his brother Tim have done a fantastic job with these animals as well as many breeders who have obtained animals from them. I have 9 in my collection too but I'll put them in my own post in a bit. Here is just another little treat. Brendan's patternless on my pool table and both of the ONLY other siblings left from the litter.

Are they 1/8th or 1/4 Amarali? How far back in the generational gap before you reach a pure Amarali sire or dam?

Hey Brendan,

She's looking great! I wasn't sure if one of those was still around, glad to see she is. What an interesting pink blush on the face. Was she an F2 or F3? (I can't remember) Can't wait to see what you pair up with that one.

Thanks for posting the updated pics. I've got some fun plans for my harlequins, they sure do make some amazing kiddos.
Good luck with her!

the father who was an F3 died as well as the other 3 and 3 of the 5 siblings. I am psyched that I have the ONLY two surviving siblings to that sexy beast. They are both females but are both currently breeding. One with a hypo harly and the other with a "normal" harly. I also have a super hypo harly who was bred by a hypo harley due in 4-5 weeks. Can't wait to see those puppies! Well, I don't want to hijack Brendan's thread but since he hadn't answered your question and I didn't want it to get buried too deep and missed like so often happens. I just took pics of all of my animals today so I will start a post of my own. You have definitely made some nice harley yourself April. Here is one pic of the same patternless harley he posted from a couple years ago on my pool table just as a treat.

Thanks so much for the info Ty! And congrats on getting those surviving siblings. I'm curious if there's any BCC in there? (I know some harlixbcc was done in the past). Based on the sibling pics you posted in the reply above, looks like some tiny peaks and they have those longer bcc type face shapes? (hmm... the patternless i just reminding me of the roswell) Ok, I am just speculating like crazy lol. I do understand there are lots of BCi out there that pop up with some peaks now and again.

I'm a big fan of a good strong head structure and I *love* the look of those siblings you posted. I was glad my harli litter had the nice longer noses, sometimes with the hypo gene in the mix they get those short stubby faces. Looking forward to your post with your harli pics.
Take care,
-April

(pic is my favorite keeper hypo harli, can't wait until she's mature!)

The mother was some type of BCC cross. I have pics of her somewhere that Brendan sent me back when they were born. I have seen her in person at his house but only the patternless have ever been to my home. I also have pics he sent me of the four babies when they were born somewhere. I will try to find them and include them in my post. Thanks for the nice comments on my pair.

Aww, that's actually too bad for me... I was hoping the patterless could be reproduced with just the harlequins as I'm not into the bcc crosses (althuogh they sure produce some wicked looking offspring). It really remindes me of the roswell bcc crosses, my thinking is this patternless look is coming in from the bcc genes. Although anything is possible so who knows what the future will bring.
Have a great rest of the day!

skyslinger Jan 14, 2009 07:24 PM

as well. I feel like the pattern alleles must not line up quite the same in these two animals. If it takes two matching alleles to create the pattern but they match up on different locations then you could end up with only one and thus NO pattern. Just a thought. I am in NO way a gentics guru. I have asked for others input a few times a couple years ago but, it doesn't seem that anyone is interested in speculating.
