You can house Ball Pythons together and assume that they are fine. They move around, they sleep, they seem to act normal/okay. But its really not good. I can write paragraphs to explain why it's not good, but simply stated -- snakes fight in ways we may not see. They dominate one another, for the best hides and for the best temperatures. Laying on top of each other is a sign of dominance, and the competition often stresses each other out. Plus its an easy way to make two snakes sick in one quick, overnight shot. Diseases and parasites spread extremely quick and easily in snakes.

There's more detail to it, but that is the basics. I wish Jennifer from Pink Lady Constrictors had her website still up... she had an extremely informative page on how harmful housing together can be.
