FAN FOR MY WINE FRIDGE INCUBATOR

thunderpaws Jan 14, 2009 11:16 PM

Hello,

Can anyone tell me where to buy a fan for a wine fridge incubator and I would like one that is AC set up so I can constantly run it in a separate power outlet. Also, how do I anchor it in the incubator. And do I put it on the top or bottom?

Thanks for your help,
Bill

Thank you very much for your help. Also how do I anchor the fan and where should I put it. Top or bottom of incubator?

Thanks again,
Bill

heat rises, so i would put it up top. to recirculate the rising heat back down to the bottom.

you can attach the fan with a piece of sheet metal. just bend it to a 90 degree angle, drill the mounting holes, then cut the circle section out. easy as that.

forgot to say...make sure the fan is blowing the air back down and not up.

Hello,

Thanks again. So mount the fan at the top and at an angle.

Thanks,
Bill

Hey,

I called radio shack and they only carry 12 volt fans. I am no electrician here but is that equal to 112-120v? Also they carry many different 12 volt fans. CPU, boards, and so on. Could you possibly clarify for me which one. Thanks a ton, and if you have the time an order number would get me right there.

Thanks again,
Bill R.

depends how you want to set it up????

you can use either or.

if you use a 12V fan you will have to get an ac/dc power supply probably with a min of 500ma to power the fan

if you use a 120v fan you can plug it right into the wall socket.

you have to look on Radio Shack online.......
(do a search for "fan"

120VAC 4" Fan
Model: 273-241 | Catalog #: 273-241

4" Cooling Fan
Model: 273-238 | Catalog #: 273-238

good luck!

get a computer fan. try bestbuy its cheaper than radio shack then ask them for a converter (they have alot of different kinds but they look like cell phone chargers you just cut off the end and splice teh cord to the fan just make sure its the right one for the fan)

Ok,

Thanks for your help. Is the adapter an ac plug adapter than just splice the two wires. I am not sure which fan I need yet but everyone has been helpful on this.

Best regards,
Bill R.
