Ctneosaura ?

indictment Jan 16, 2009 04:39 PM

Hey guys, I have this Ctenosaura in the reptile lab I work at (not an actual laboratory). The label on the cage identifies this Iguanid as a C. similis, but I have show many people its picture and they have disagreed. Even I am not seeing the resemeblance of the normal colors sometimes.

Anyways, I'm more of a snake person honestly so I'd thought I'd get your expert opinions here.

Thanks guys.

BTW: It was apparently w/c a few years ago in Honduras while a respectable herpetologist was doing some other unrelated work down there....If that locality helps at all.

Someone definitely knows what this is. You'll hear from Kelly Paul or Manny soon. It's kind of a slow forum, but lots of really knowledgeable guys. You'll hear in a couple days.

Thanks, seems like all the forums are pretty slow. I spend most of my time in the leopard geckos, kingsnakes, and venomous sections and they're all pretty slow also.

I was looking at some of the past questions and it does seem like there are a lot of knowledgeable people on here.

Then, in your opinion, does it display a slightly lighter coloration than most others.......that's what a lot of people said when they saw it and why they asked me if it was truly a similis.

Similis show a wide range of coloration.

Sorry been so busy lately that I hardly have time to get online. That is 1000% Similis. I have caught over 1000 here in Miami and on the West coast of Florida. They have a wide variety of phenotypes including the bright orange on light gray coloration that the one pictured has.
