INTRODUCING THE COURT JESTER !!

albinosunlimited Jan 16, 2009 08:50 PM

This guy just came in from Africa. He is a more extreme version of the jester ball, so he has been named the Court Jester!

dgarner Jan 16, 2009 09:14 PM

That thing is absolutely amazing. Do you have any breeding going on right now with the jester?

albinosunlimited Jan 16, 2009 09:20 PM

I have produced babys from the jester. I will be breeding him back to his daughters in the 2010 season. It looks to be a recessive morph.

That thing looks better than the original jester. You can see the different colored scales really well. I hope it is recessive we need more recessive traits.

it looks like someone took the powers of photoshop and applied it to nature... that is one awesome looking snake. At first glance, the picture almost looked like a magic eye poster.. HAAH.. TRY TO FIND THE SNAKE!!!!

Thanks for sharing

clintkb Jan 17, 2009 12:28 PM

Jon,

Did your other Jester have the random purple scales? Kevin(NERD), on his website says the whitesmoke was possibly a t+ with a "leaky gene" that resulted in the random black scales. It seems to me that your snake might have more in common with the Nerd Original Whitesmoke? That is going to be very interesting when you breed it! congrats anyways on an awesome looking snake!

joshhutto Jan 18, 2009 12:55 PM

Clint,

the original whitesmoke is the same thing as the banana and coral. As they get older they loose that beautiful purple and yellow coloration. I know there are some out there that are largely invested in the banana morph that don't want to agree with this, but it's the truth.

Josh,

I have seen the coral glow and bannana in person and my opinion is they are the same. But until they are bred more i dont think we can say for sure. I saw will Slough's Bannana at the philly show in 2004? I have a pict of his adult bannana female and she looks like this court jester of jon's. I guess we will have to see with breeding. but these are good problems to have!

joshhutto Jan 18, 2009 10:11 PM

lol, I agree fully. The problem with thinking that the jester could be banana/coral/whitesmoke is that that/those mutations are codom and out of the breedings so far, this is proving not to be unless he is just hitting horrible odds.

clintkb Jan 18, 2009 11:17 PM

Josh,

I do not believe this snake is a Jester. I think the jester is going to be a recessive project like the Paragon/Toffee project. Hopefully, Jon will prove the Jester project soon. But as far as this snake goes, Jon was told about a "Jester found in Africa";hence, the name. He is going to breed it and prove what it is, so this is just speculation but the snake is Orange with Purple bands and black scales(sounds like a bannana, looks like a bannana....) Its fun to guess, cant wait til it proves.

joshhutto Jan 19, 2009 03:13 AM

you know I never even looked at it like that. I guess it could be a banana/coral just having more black than the other specimens around. But then again there are so few old adults this is what they all could turn out like? When he tied it to the jester project I just thought it was the same thing just with more freaky areas (like calicos or pieds). I guess that's the problem with naming morphs before you even breed them once, it causes everyone to assume. Heck for all we know this could be the same thing as the jester and the jester may not even prove to be genetic.
