a pastel is a pastel and that's that. one line doesn't make another any different. they all have pretty ones and ugly ones.

but at the end they are all the same

I disagree the Ruppel Stonewash line super pastel is not like any other super pastel. Heres a link to Casey Lazik's website with his Ruppel super pastel

all pastel lines are compatible. i have seen examples of different lines that look pretty much the same. i got my first pastels before i was aware of the existence of different lines, so i ended up with a mixed up bunch. i am sure there are people out there that want to keep the lines separate, but it's a little too late for me i guess...

I dissagree that there is no difference between pastels, the ruppel, lemon and jungle are pretty easy to figure out. Again there are great examples of the line and bad examples that just goes with all morphs. My guess on yours would be jungle pastel.

actually all pastels where known as pastel jungels early on. We all just got lazy and removed the jungle term from them and started calling them pastels.

Right they ALL used to be called jungles but I somewhat agree with Brian that the Lemon and the Ruppel are by far the most noticable.

i don't think there is any line of pastels out today that is not "COMPATIBLE"

if you take a..................

TSK line x NERD line........what do you get????

NERD line x Graziani line.............what do you get???

answer: pastel, pastel, pastel

however a Ruppel may be a different kind of pastel like an Enchi in that the super looks completely different from a super of a regular pastel.

Actually the Ruppel line is the Graziani line. Stan has a male Graziani line that makes the stonewash babies. I bought a stonewash male from him along with a sib female and while i hatched out 2 female super stonewash pastels back in 05, i haven`t hatched out a stonewash from my male yet.

It seems that the regular pastel "lines" (excluding rupple, enchi, etc) have been crossed so many times that it might be difficult to find one that didn't have more than one "line" mixed in somewhere in their genetic background.

I agree that there are pretty awesome pastels and then there are just bu&% ugly pastels from every line . . . the challenge is to find one that is awesome and not just cheap.

I agree completely. It's gotten to the point that most people do not know what line of pastel they have. On top of that, if you're purchasing a "graziani pastel" you more than likely only have the seller's word to go on. It could be a Graziani line, or it could be a pastel that resembles Graziani's line of pastels. In the end, it's just much more important that one gets high quality pastels. Additionally, pastels are still being imported. Unlike the pinstripe and spiders that have descended from one or two animals, it's not unheard of to have new pastels sent from overseas.
