A happy sight of social behavior

I came into the monitor house this morning and found the afore mentioned pair of young Crocs making love on a ledge in the sun.

I backed out and quietly closed the door.

If you have photos is that considered monitor porn?

bishopm1 Jan 18, 2009 04:36 PM

Well, it did made me smile all over If it is porn its romantic soft girly porn. Even their long tails are entwined.

I see today they are constantly together often in the arm around each other position. Should I stay out of there? How long is this going to go on? I have a ceiling and a tile floor to put in in.

In my experience it is tough to bug them when they are at it. most species go for 3-5 days. Crocs are probably the same.

hahahahahaha No, every day from dawn to dusk I am out working my hindquarters off on my little farm, cleaning the hen house, fixing the milking shed and planting winter crops. As well, as I need to finish the enterior of the monitor house and move all the snakes. In addition I actually have a regular job. No, I have not figured out the dadgum camera yet.

Did you do anything special to get them to mate or did they just do it?

I would leave them alone maybe but i am not sure.

She had the day before gone for a vet checkup. Pheromone release?

The night before they gorged on mice. Steak dinner?

They have been spending a lot of time in their new heated "hot tub" Self explainatory.

This explains the social behavior, she's cycling and receptive. It could last from a few days to a few weeks. Keep an eye on the female if it lasts too long as she may become stressed or injured.

Once this ends you may see a change in behavior. They do not mate due to feelings for another. I don't mind the social discussion. We're not going to get into the sex because they're in love discussion, are we?

Of course not you silly goofus.

The separation apparatus/enclosure is already in place. It was originally built to protect me from them not her from him. Her side has a box hide full of damp moss. Will that do?
