Should I use Calci-Sand?

TerciopeloVerde Jan 19, 2009 03:14 AM

I am getting a GBK in a few days and am trying to figure out what substrate to use. I know that aspen and newspaper are popular choices, but I want it to look aesthetically appealing, and I'm willing to pay for that. I looked up this product: T-Rex Bone Aid Calci-Sand, and I'm thinking of possibly using it. What do you think?

I can not speak for any personal experience, but I have heard that calci sand can cause impaction in herps that ingest it. I am pretty sure it was a reference to leopard geckos that eat live crickets off the ground. But it was what I heard

It seems like they said it acts like clumping cat litter when it gets wet?
