Coloring Up and Mice Gross

dpoling Jan 21, 2009 02:01 PM

At what age/size do brb's tend to start developing their color? Or does it vary depending on the quality, lineage, parents etc?

Also, my snake is currently eating hoppers. Does it make sense to order, say 50 weanlings from an online store, or would my snake need bigger prey too soon. I just have like one petstore near me and I am less than impressed with their frozen mice and have been buying live and killing them, which I prefer not to do.

Sorry for the trivial questions...

Most BRBs will have developed most of their color by the time they are 6 months old.

50 hoppers is a lot and by the time you're through with them, your snake will have grown into a new prey size. You may need to consider buying a new baby BRB to take up some of the slack

Do you know anyone close to you with lots of snakes? I supply two people with frozen feeders - as I buy lots of them and the people I supply each have just one snake.
