Cb70 tubs

cwolf Jan 22, 2009 01:03 AM

Hi,
I have a brand new 10 slot animal plastics cb70 rack and no tubs for it yet. I have seen the tubs with water bowls made into them, and cant decide what to get. I like the idea of my snakes not being able to move the bowls around, but I dont like the idea of not being able to stack the tubs when its time to clean. And im not sure I want to deal with having to use deli cups for water bowls since they are not easily available locally. So my question is what is everyone using for tubs? If I get the tubs without the bowls I will go with the vision tubs because they cost less, has anyone had any problems with the vision tubs?

Thx
Chris

If deli cups do appeal to you , you can order a case of 500 for something like 30 or 40 bucks at various restuarant supply comp. Just google deli cups.

It would be nice if all these rack mfgr's sold the correct tubs with the goods, instead of having you run around trying to find them: case in point, the sterilite tub saga.
Back to your question. Have the V-70 tubs and they're great. Easy to clean, etc. Ask AP if these will fit your rack to be sure.
Heavy water bowls? Try "this pet place, in pa. Look under the dog, cat, reptile categories. Reasonably priced and hard to tip, unless you keep big pythons.

I get my Cups at the local Chinese food store. I figured the price out to 3 cents per cup.

Have you looked at Superior Enterprises? They have deli cups at a good price and have lids that have a hole in the top that helps prevent water spills. It's actually designed for putting mealworms in to keep them from crawling out. It really works well.

I had used them with lids before. But I did see a snake that crawled in there and later died.

With the CB 70 I use a 4" PVC coupler (around $3 at most DIY stores) and I put a 16 oz deli cup in there. SE is a great company to get cups from and they can re-do your order with a phone call when you get low on cups. You may not need the lid with this set up. I only have the lids with the holes in them for my yearling corns and rat snakes - they can tip over anything for some reason..

I use the tubs from ARS with the deli cup holder.
You can glue all sorts of crap to the tubs, like pipe caps, etc, but they will not dry easily, and are impossible to clean correctly if you glue them down.
Just get the ARS tubs and be done with it. They rock!
