My two largest girls.

mrredsdesigns Jan 22, 2009 09:01 PM

I had the gang out last night for some pictures and thought I'd post these two for now. This first one is my largest. She last measured at 4'8" long and around 3500 grams. To me she looks rather gray and resembling an axanthic. But there are times when she looks rather browned out. Either way she is a very nice girl and a couple years ago gave me 9 good eggs and 3 slugs. So we'll see how she does this year after having last season off.

Here she is in all her greyish tone...

Then this is a picture in her browned our phase...

Now here's the size comparison picture...

Then this here is my second largest female that is very much a normal. She's about 2/3s the size of my largest girl and breeding for the first time this season.

Well I hope everyone is having a great season.

They both are very pretty!! The first girl with her "color change" fascinates me -- but whether she's something weird or not -- she's a pretty little (or pretty big, lol) keeper.

Thank you. She looked like this a couple years ago before she dropped her first clutch of eggs. But then again she looks like this most of the time too. Haha. She normally coils into a tight ball but lately she's been having trouble coiling up tightly so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Here's a picture of her about 2 weeks before she had her first clutch next to a very normal looking girl.

Then the lighter of these two was one of her offspring.

Unfortunately he was the only male and was a VERY slow starter that didn't make it in the end. So we'll see how things turn out this time around.

Here's a picture of the male I paired her up with.

Wow! They are huge!! They must be great eaters; lucky you! And that one does look a lot like a axanthic, and so does her baby.

Thank you and yes they are both great eaters. The smaller of the two eats large rats while the larger girl just loves her jumbo rats.

If she does lay eggs this season then you can bet that I'll be holding back another one of her baby boys to breed back to her.
