man, my retic kratos just gave me one hell of a scare, heh. hes a 12 footer and usually calm as a puppy, so i took him out for his cage cleaning and put him in the bathtub (his favorite little hangout while i clean) and he was fine and dandy, no problems, after about an hour in the tub i went to get him to put him back home and he was out of control, he never open mouth struck at me, but he sure did a lot of hissing, squirming and "mock" strikes, took me like 30 min. to get him back to his cage, good lord...a 12 foot retic is sure tuff to handle when they want to do what they want to do, and its not like he really wanted to go anywhere, hed squirm and hiss, then just sit...strange cause in the 2 years ive had him hes never done this, well, guess that just goes to show you the unpredictability of reptiles, just thought id share my little rant, heh. have a nice day!

Could be just hormones, being breeding seasoning and all. I have a 16'Lavender albino male that I've taken to schools, churches, etc. He's never made an aggressive gesture in the 2 1/2 years I've had him. 3 months ago I slid his door open just to give him a few pats and he latched onto my left forearm, darn near came away with a mouthful, but he let go. I healed up ok, but like you said, you have to remember you're dealing with a wild animal, not a domesticated animal. Heck of a wake up call, and I've been dealing with these animals for the better part of 15 years! Worst bite I've ever had, and hopefully the last! (but I'm not counting on it)
Good luck!
