INFERNO!!!!

zippy00_99 Jan 23, 2009 02:03 PM

Well, I just got off the phone with NERD, and they actually told me the genetics of this beautiful snake the INFERNO. They said that they didn;t mind telling me because they know that if anyone wants to make one it is going to take a long time, and they would need the secret ingredient only NERD has. So here it is PASTEL, YELLOW BELLY, GRANITE, AND THE WOMA THAT NERD PRODUCES WITH THE SPECIAL GENE IN IT. I guess no other womas ecept for nerds' has this special gene, so you would need to either buy an inferno, a soul sucker, or basically anything that nerd used their woma in, or one of nerds womas. The granite part threw me off though, I don't really see any granite traces in the inferno, but thats what THEY said, oh well there you have it, the INFERNO ingredients

.........so it would be a shot if you have nerd womas even???

...just a thought...I don't know if they all have the special or not.....and I don't have womas....

but the ingredients were posted a couple days ago by Tosha. It is nice though that NERD is giving up some info, too bad that they have more that they WONT tell what's in them
My opinion only but, part of me just doesn't agree with the high-horse that breeders are riding these days. I know, it's all about the money, money, money!

I agree with you, and you know who is known for ball hybrids. How would you know for sure what is in an inferno ?

johnberry Jan 24, 2009 12:37 PM

Totally agree, not telling anyone how a particular designer morph is made up is pure horse %^%&. Yes we know its all about money, but Ball pythons are only worth what people will pay for them ... and unless you know what you can make with a particular morph or designer mutation why buy it ? Most people have spent huge amounts of money on their collections and will continue to do so as long as we all know whats in the higher end morphs. Being open is what has driven the hobby so far.

IMO I dont think people should be harping on the big name breeders for keeping some of there stuff top secret for awhile. It only makes sense that they would want to produce a few of them first before they disclose what was used in making some of the more complex morphs. Yes money is part of it and it should be when you consider it is there buisness and lively hood.
I see no problem with them showing us the morphs ahead of time before they say what created them. I would rather see them now then a few years down the road. Gives me something to wish I had.

Besides just about every type of buisness out there keeps there secrets. Like the KFC and there secret recipe. lol

So how about we all just lay off the top breeders, after all some of them are what made this hobby what it is today.

I don't blame Kevin at all for waiting so long to tell what makes an inferno. He put alot of time into making that morph, to just let someone come along and mass produce it. If you want to make it you are going to pay big money for his hidden gene woma. I have a woma that I bought two years ago that Kevin said is a possible hidden gene carrier, so hopefully next year I may have an Inferno. But I still might spend the money and buy a hidden gene carrier woma, and then there still isn't a guarantee that I will hit the combo. But if I do It will be money well spent. That animal is just plain sexy.....

Very nicely said.....

That was meant to be in response to KLG's post

There will always be those who harp about "it's all for the money" all day long. Fine, whatever. But maybe it doesn't occur to them (you?) that sometimes a breeder who works so hard & creates something really cool wants to just enjoy that animal for the rarity that it is, and the effort that it represents, before blowing out the ingredients to the rest of the world and thereby making them not-quite-so-rare, if indeed that is the case.

We all love having that super cool "trophy" animal in our collections, the one-of-a-kind critter that is something mindblowing, or fun to stare at, or a snake that just gives you goosebumps knowing that it is the only one just like that & it's there for you to look at any time you want. That, ultimately, is why many of us do this...because in the end, there are certainly better paying jobs out there.

It's very easy to judge someone when you can't see the whole picture.

Just my $.02, from the other side. And I don't even keep ball pythons.
