problem feeder question.

ryned04 Jan 23, 2009 03:59 PM

i have a sub adult bee that always tries eating his rat wherever he strikes it even if its on the abdomen, neck, etc. He has swallowed rats tail first a few times, but occasionally just gives up and leaves it if he can't find the head. I now have to make sure he strikes it on the head so that he will eat. He's not under weight or anything and i'm not really concerned about his health, i was just wondering if anybody else has a snake that does this. or could it have to do with the spider gene?
thanks it advance.

Wow, I'm glad I don't have that problem, because my sub-adult normal eats tail-first half the time.

mine usually makes several attempts, usually taking a leg or sholder, but usually gives up, backs off and tries again.

If it keeps playing with its food and then leaving it on the floor you may want to try putting it in a smaller container when feeding, this seems to help keep intrest in the food until its gone because they can't just take off from it.
