I'm going to buy a pair of dwarfs. They are 07 farm bred from vietnam and a guy imported em as hatchlings and kept em for over a year. They are between 2' and 3'. Do you believe they are about the same to breed as theyr bigger cousing or a bit harder? I know males can breed at 4' and females at 5'

Hi Flavio, Dwarf Burms don't come from Vietam. They are actually on an island in Indonesia. I only say this because there are some out there selling normal burms as dwarfs, so be careful. The size sounds about right though.

Dwarfs seem to be more difficult to breed. I'm not sure if it depends more on age than size, but 3 to 4 years old seems to be the right age for females. We are seeing a lot more action with our dwarfs this year as opposed to last year, nothing came of our breedings last year. They also don't breed as often as normal burms. Ours are only breeding evey week or two. We hope to produce some babies from ours this year.

As it's said they're imported from vietnam as they're farm bred animals, the owner has some since years imported from the same farm and they're small adults (now 3 y.o), between 4-5 ft for males and about 6' for females.
How long/old are yours? Are your adults wildcaught?
