If you look bak over the forums you will see a lot of post like yours, this time of year its not uncommon for leos to go off food for awhile due to seasonal changes. However, you never want to just assume its seasonal, you want to rule out any other issues - and then if everything checks out and the leo doesnt lose much weight its safe to assume its seasonal.

First steps:

- Check husbandry.....What are the temps? How are you heating the tank? Are you measuring the temps digitally? Have their been any other big stressors/changes in the life of the leo lately?

- Check the weight. In order to track any weight loss, you need to know the starting weight - a digital gram scale doesnt cost much and is GREAT for this.

- Check a fecal. Having a fecal sample checked at the vet will rule out any parasites contributing to the lack of appetite.

If the husbandry checks out, the fecal shows no parasites, and no dramatic weight loss is noted then its likely just seasonal and all you can do is wait it out. Some leos will take a few weeks, others will take a couple months to come out of it, just continue to offer food and monitor the weight - they will eat eventually

Of course, its NEVER a bad idea to have any animal checked by a herp vet when they arent eating.

Good idea

The cost will vary depending on the vet - on average an exam will range from 40-60$ and a fecal sample from 30-60$ - those are pretty wide ranges, as all vet clinics are different. Your best bet is to find a good herp vet (this is important - not just a dog/cat vet!) and call them and have them give you a price quote, as well as set up an appointment.

you can use www.herpvetconnection.com and www.arav.org to find a good herp vet
