Irian Jaya Caging

mbm95 Jan 24, 2009 09:14 PM

Hey guys. I am probably getting an IJ Carpet soon and I can't deside how to set up my cage. Could ya'll show me some pictures so I can get an idea on how to set it up? And I was wondering how you would clean a branch you find in the woods to make it safe for the snake to perch on. Thanks for your help!

Throw anything you find in the wild into an oven @ 300 degrees F for about 20 minutes- that should kill anything.

Okay, thanks. What kind of cages are those? I might buy one if I can.

Oh, and what kind of light bulbs would you recommend for an Irian Jaya? I am also confused on how you could control the temperature with light bulbs. How would you raise the temperature in the winter and lower in the summer to keep it balanced? Thanks again.

PM me with all the specific stuff. KS TOS doesn't allow us to post brand/vendor names in the forums, and not sure anybody here wants to read the gazillion individual posts with a question or two in each.

Bake in an oven at 250 F for one hour.

Yes, seriously, that will kill any nasties on / in the branch and 250 F is well below the ignition point of wood.
