According to the piece of paper (manual?) that came with my Helix 1000:

E2 & E3 denotes invalid day and night temperatures, respectively. Both temperatures can only be between 65 F and 110 F. If a memory setting becomes corrupted, the controller will detect it and reset itself, or safely default to 85 F, and the red trouble light will stay on until the appropriate setting has been reset.

Even though you're not using nite drop, make sure the nite drop setting is set above 65. I'd probably set it to the same as the day temp setting just to try avoid any conflicts.

Hope that helps!

hi,thanks for the help.how do i set the nite temp?i only set the temp once at 95 degrees.i thought that this would be a constant temp for 24hrs.i did not know it would take setting it twice for day and nite.also how do i know when im setting the day or nite?
thanks for help

You have to have a nite drop cable plugged into the unit to access the nite drop settings. If you don't have a cable plugged into the unit you need to contact Helix for a shunt to reset the error.

Have you tried disconnecting the power to the unit for a few minutes to see if it will reset itself?

Hang in there!

thank you very much for your help.in the meantime is it ok to keep the helix running with the red lite error code on?im gonna try to turn everything off and see if it resets like you recommended.thanks

The error code is just a "notice" and shouldn't affect the operation of the day temperature setting. I would check to make sure the temperature is where it should be at various times of the day/night just to be on the safe side.

Please let me know how things turn out. I've never had any problems with mine so your situation could end up helping other people, too.

Hang in there!

I've had the same error, like HH said, you'll need the night drop cord (or shunt) to be able to set the night drop temp to proper range. Powering off did not help fix mine. Fortunately I had a night drop cord already.
