BT Babies on RATS!!!! Yes!!!!......

Daniel Klopson Jan 25, 2009 04:59 PM

My BT's are six months old now and they both took RAT pinks this week! It took twenty minutes of creative presentation to get them to take them.... but they took them! Robert had told me these two were a bit stuborn getting off fish scent in the first place. And they've not been happy about switching to rats from mice! I get a real kick out of watching cribos hunt, defend, and eat. They really do seem to "get" it more than my boas, I must say they are far more exciting to work with! Thanks for dropping by, Dan

Congratulations.

Once in a while I will get a stubborn BT baby that will refuse rodents.

A trick that has always worked is to cut open a whole trout and stuff the thawed rodent(s) inside.

I let them "marinate" at room temp for a few hours. for really stubborn converts I will prescent the room with the the trout. Never fails to bring them out and "begging" at the door of the cage.
