Update ** Hopi is a little greasy looking from neosporin a few times a day. But her bites have closed, and are healing nicely. Her leg is still swollen,(front leg closest to you in pic) she does use it with a little hobble yet. But it does get better each day. I rinse her 3 times a day with provodine iodine solution , and then apply neosporin, has worked excellent. The sand you see on her, the little fink just jumped into an aloe plant pot on the floor that had sand in it. Now its sticking to her ointment, geesh, But all in all has turned out well ! :0) Eve

In my personal opinion, iodine is about the best thing to clean a wound with. I use the livestock sollution which is 7% iodine but the stuff for humans works well too. I have never had a wound treated with iodine ever get infected; I have used it on horses, cows, dogs, cats, and a snake. Plus myself! I am a huge advocate of it as you can tell.
