Pooping In the Bath Tub

faygo19 Jan 28, 2009 02:58 PM

I try to soak my beardie like once a week but have found that recently he doesn't poop until I put him in the bath tub with the water and then he poops a ton. This makes for a bigger clean up than i would like and I have found that poop throw up and anything else in that nature make me want to throw up. Even mine lol. Just wondering why he is doing this im guessing he is stressed for some reason and that is why. Any help would be great if someone else does something better please let me know.

Thanks for you time!

Never had this problem with a bierdie but i know with monitors usually means that the humidity is to low.... maybe he is to dehydrated in his cage.... they are desert animals but still like some humidity.... dont know if that helps but just some thought....

usually the water especially warm stimulates them to go in there...all of my reptiles do the same and i find it much easier to clean wen they poop in the tub...its pretty normal

Well as long as it is normal its all good as long as he isn't pooping on me im cool

its normal for dragons to poop when having a bath. To ease cleanup, give them a bath in a small container. When he goes, take him out and dump the soiled water and poop into the toilet. Wash and disinfect the tub, rinse and put your dragon in again if he wants to soak some more.
