Ever Seen Bean-like Feces?

Ameron Jan 28, 2009 08:56 PM

Yikes! I'm wondering if today's snake poop is an indication of:

1. larvae of some parasite
2. undeveloped eggs

Feces found in corner, same bean-like pellets I've seen a few days ago. Almost no other material found defecated. No black section at all; the blob of usually white goo was greenish in hue. Four or five of the pellet-like feces look much like moist white beans. Their sides have a brownish tinge to them.

This snake has not eaten since prior to November 25, when it defecated its last meal of 2 days before. It looks healthy overall, and is relatively active, but refuses to eat. During last few days there were bouts of sneezing. Now I notice the bean-like feces.

Do any experienced herpers recognize what these are?
Can you suggest any treatment?

When dry, are these "beans" chalky? If so then they are just urates. How big are these beans? If they are squishy sacs, then they could be unfertilized eggs. (If your snake is female of course)
