why, where, and people are selling babies...what's going on???
I know here in Canada in the early spring a big shipment came in.
I'm assuming that they were all illegally caught and shipped...so perhaps some of them were gravid at that time. Someone told me that about 50 came into Toronto alone.
I'm also certain that Brian's post below...about the turmoil in the Solomons has a great deal to do with it as well.
The people there are probably doing whatever it takes to survive, and if that means catching and selling the PTS, then that's what they will do.
That's just my opinion based on the earlier posts.

I've checked with most of the sellers of large lots and they are all WC animals. One seller did point out that he has CITES documents from the importer.
Question: How could I, as a potential buyer, determine the validity of CITES documents? Is there a way?

I'd personally wait until a CB one comes along. They may have CITES papers for it, but if they sell one, it shows that catching wild specimens works and more will be imported, which will damage the populations that are actually out there.
The one i am getting is a captive bred specimen, but i'm not sure how old he is. If it is a he. (S)he should be older than 3 years of age. I also found out from my college that in a nature reserve close to me, a guy has successfully bred quite a few corucias. When i find out what sex mine is, he may be able to provide me with a mate if needs be, which is rather generous of him i'd say.
