...just WOW!!!

Do you have on it mice or toads, and what sex?

I really hope that he/she does well for you and you can get some babies, and not have a repeat performance of the one female albino southern.

The very best of luck, and don't be afraid to post more updates as often as you want. Believe me, I'm not the only one who is not going to get tired of seeing pics of that thing!

Do you have any pics of the Albino Southern you mentioned in the last thread?

Nice to see another Albino Eastern pop up. I went on a hunt for them a few years ago only to find they had died before reproducing.

Wonder what happened with all of the Leucistic/Calico Easterns that popped up...

Tom, if you ever want to rid yourself of that gem I can leave you my name, address, phone number and first born male child if necessary

I think you may be remembering those leucy westerns from Colorado. If so, I've heard word that there are still hets out there in peoples' collections, but no other info.

There are also those insance westerns that were posted on here a while back I think they were being called "Lavenders", and those I would assume are still with the original breeder.

AND there was that striped WC eastern a WHILE back on here...I wish I knew what happend to that one.

I did see those westerns (a shame about that project).

There have been quite a few leucistic easterns, though. Two were caught a year or two ago. One about an hour from me (Louisiana), and another in Florida. They both had faint black speckling on their upper portions of their bodies.

Then a couple of years before that, there was a solid white male caught and then sold on the classifieds. The asking price was $5,000, but I contacted them right as it had been sold.

I also heard a story that a kid in Florida had brought a gravid one into a petshop. He found it in his yard or something from what I was told. And according to the story it ended up hatching a few visual leucistics aswell.

Not sure about the last one, but I was in contact with the owners of the other three (and purchaser of the one sold). I talked to them for quite some time, and they periodically posted updated here and on fauna. Eventually they just quit updating and I haven't gotten replied in over a year.

Here is a pic of the one caught in LA. It was the last update pic that I know of, and was shown in February 2007.

I also forgot that there was another guy who's professor had a slide of a Leucistic Eastern that a college student had caught a VERY long time ago.

Also heard of some DOR ones. My friend actually found one in a ditch being eaten by a kingsnake. This was a good 9 years ago, though.

As far as I know, all of the platrhinos phases that have been sold on kingsnake.com over the last several years have perished.
