Mine is a wild caught that I brought home to use in a program for boy scouts. I treated it like a venemous snake when I found it, because I am past that time in my life where it is cool to be lit up a dozen times by a black racer, then musked on. I only found out how laid back he was accidentally, when I had to move him to put a clean water bowl in his cage. He never even threatened to bite. During the program, I handled him for 15 min, and carried him around the room. He took a thawed mouse the first time I offered it, just threw it in the cage and he took it. Have only seen a racer like this one time before. Usually, if it's not biting you, it's dead! Decided not to release this one after the program. He's earned an easy life with me and lots of programs to come.
