what size aquarium do i need for a mercury vapor bulb?

what size aquarium do i need for a mercury vapor bulb for my young beardie...and where is the best place to get the bulb and what set up should i use

www.reptiledirect.com and petguys.com have the powersun 100 watt flood bulbs for around $34.00.

The Powersun 100 watt flood bulb (don't get the 160 watt for a small cage) emits about the same amount of heat as a 100 watt basking bulb or maybe just slightly less. You need to have your basking spot at least 12 inches away from this bulb because the UVB is very strong. Which means you can't put one of those bulbs in a really small cage. I would suggest a minimun of at least 40 gallons, but a 55 gallon would be more ideal. Also, if you can find a good deal on them, the T-Rex Active UVHeat bulbs are almost exactly the same bulb.
