Question about upgrading feeding?

merlin7676 Jan 31, 2009 09:59 PM

Just a quick question to get some feedback regarding my kingsnake feedings...Currently she is eating a mix of fuzzies/peach fuzzies...Usually around 5-6 fuzzies and 3-ish peach fuzzies (trying to get rid of those) per feeding every week. For my next order should I get hoppers and decrease to a couple of those or go directly to weanlings and just offer a few of those? She's about 3 1/2 feet long and will be 2 this spring. thanks

What kind of King?

My Cal King is 2.5 - 3 ft long and easily eats one or two hoppers once a week.

You should be feeding your kingsnake large mice . Skip the hoppers and get adult mice. You are depriving you snake with vital nutrients for proper growth and nutrition by keeping it on fuzzies this long. Fuzzies don't have enough calcium or other nutrients like adult mice.
