Is there a way to visually determine the sex of a Scarlet king? I don't know how to pop or probe and would like to see what i have before tryng to score another one.

Sexing baby scarlets with probes can be done but should only be tried by someone with experience. Bottom line, you want to BREED them? You will likely be better off using a "fish" approach, raising several up together and the odds are you should have a pr. Raising scarlets from babies to adulthood to breed is very difficult even for the most experienced keeper. You wont ever find cb adults for sale because of this. If this is your goal my suggestion would be to try and work with lines that others will want as babies....there are hypos out there. Your best bet to sex it may be to take it to a local herp meeting or show. Good luck.

Don't worry, I am faaaaaaaaaaaaar from experienced enough to breed them at this point. However, they are a favorite of mine and I'd like to have a pair in case the urge ever hits me to breed them down the road. For now I am sticking to breeding Brooks!
