Mira - pics

zimbabwepegasus Feb 01, 2009 11:57 PM

Here is my little girl rockin' out. She's so chill! Oh man. She's a pleasure to hang out with compared to my darling little corns. She's from Dave's Molly x Hook litter.

Mira with my new roommate

Then some OT because it was picture day.
Salvador- bloodred corn who would not for the life of him stay still!

Ella- anery stripe corn. She's got a bit of scale damage from an incident with a flower pot... Keeping an eye on it. Should just fade out with a shed or two.

Fat beardie... he may be a wee bit spoiled.

Fiona, my golden gecko- the only thing I have in my household that quite actively bites.

Huh, your golden bites, eh? My brother has one, and it's not so much a biter as a runner away, and it's FAST. He doesn't handle it much, just because it's a struggle to keep it from quite literally flying out of his hands and ending up on the ceiling or in some crevice where it'd never be recovered.

Oof. Yes she bites. Less than she used to. And I swear her teeth are somehow jagged- she sorta shreds skin rather than pierces it. She was a rescue. She doesn't go after me at all any more and is visibly more comfortable with my existence than she used to be, but cage cleaning is still a sorta interesting event.

Yeah, goldens aren't a great handling gecko. Tokays are one of their closest relatives and while they are nasty like them- they do tend to be a bit skittish. Handling small, fast, biting things that can walk on walls is pretty much just asking for it. =)

Goldens and their relatives are real speedsters and they do not hesitate to make long jumps to get away when being handled.

Yeah, I've seen that happen in person - just didn't realize they were closely related to Tokays.

Hey Kerry, Mira looks like she's doing well, always happy to see them go to good homes!!!!

The rest look great as well, dontcha love it when they just won't stay still? Doesn't always work but I have a pair of bowls with matching notches cut in the rim. I let (aim) the snake slither in and close off the opening by rotating them opposite directions. Once all the way in and opening closed off. I weigh them down and do some other tub/cage cleaning for a few minutes allowing the snake unde the bowl to settle in. Then lift of the bowl and quick with the camera.
