Why wont my dimmer switch dim ? I have it hooked to 4" flexwat and it won'tchange the heat. I tryed it on a light blub and is still wont dim the bulb.It does turn on and off . I have it wired in "parallel" '(attached to one wire the black one)

You have a pic of how it's wired? I soder the sections of wire to the flexwatt and wirenut however many i need together to the end of the dimmer. I hook up the hot and netural though. I don't know what you mean by only hooking up the black
