In need of help, from the gecko pro's!

Gazza Sep 10, 2003 12:38 PM

Hi everyone,

Now I used to keep leopard gecko's years back, and now i've decided to add some to my collection again, but when I used to buy mine they were just 'normals'. Now I've been offered a few different types and here's the list:

albino, normals het albino, snow, and chocolates.

So could some of you PLEASE post some pictures of the listed morphs, so I can see what they are all supposed to look like before I actually buy them.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I don't have any pic but i can kinda give you a definition of what they usually look like.

Albino: Usually pink with yellow markings (some are darker than others) Not a single spot of black on them. They have red eyes or kinda a grayish.

Normals het albino: These will look just like normals but if breed with an albino it's babies will be albino

Snow: I think these are supossed to be like patternless. They Kinda look white or a light color and when they are little they have really nice patterns on their back.

Chocolates: I don't really know what these are some breeders give their leos funky names like this just so they can get more $$ for them

Hope i helped, Katie

Here is a jungle Albino here name is serenity. Go to some of the breeders web sites they show and tell what they are. I know Albeys to cool reptiles have snows on her best of 2002 page

A snow is a leo where the yellow is actually white. There are actually very few good examples of this morph.

To be honest the main one I wanted to know what it actually looks like is the chocolate morph?

I know it can come in light or dark form.

Thanks

albinos:

There are 3 different lines.. Going clockwise from the top: Tremper, Las Vegas, and Bell.

snow:

This is about as nice they can be

another one so you can se the color variation

chocolates:

I hope this helps you

a chocolate are tremper albinos. its nothing rare or anything its a tremper albino that hasnt been temp manipulated during incubation. they are the true form of tremper albinos (or what they originally looked like) i believe they are a tryonaise positive form of albinism but over the years through incubation manipulation in the temps and selectively breeding lighter animals to lighter animals the brown ones or chocolate ones are around to much anymore... original trempers were brown ermm excuse me choclate

tremper and rainwater are t positive for sure, i still dont know about the bells they have light pink eyes and even though some look dark the darker areas arent brown they are red or a deep redish maroon color, i havent decided on the bells yet. but i do have a friend that is trying to find out for sure by sending one animal of each form of albinism out for genetic testing. one tremper one bell and one rainwater and possibly even the infamouse leshock. it will surely be interesting

im pretty sure the bells would be t , the way i imagine a t- albino is like a tremper incubated with tremper's method. the way an albino BP is, just yellow and white. maybe what i think t or t- albinos are is wrong.

p.s.
did you just get married? i just noticed that in your sig? lucky, congrats, and if you've been married for a while, your still lucky and still, congrats.
