Ovulation ?

s_bo Feb 03, 2009 02:54 PM

Hi

This is going to sound really silly but I'd like your opinion.

The pictured female below ate 2 days ago. She had 1 medium rat and 1 small rat. Now the immediate thing to think is the lump is down to that however I have my doubts. She has been known to devour 3 large rats and not have a lump anywhere near that size. I didn't check her yesterday so I'm not sure if she was that big then or not.

She was with a male albino in Nov and Dec and has been with a het in Jan. The albino didn't show much signs of breeding but the het has been all over since day one.

This is my first season breeding boas and so I'm not too sure what to look out for when it comes to their ovulations. I think it may be to high up her body to be one but I'd like to hear what you think.

Thanks

I've had fems ovulate in conjunction with a feeding.
Causing me to miss the ovulation.
Watch the males breeding behavior if he stops
chances are good she ovulated.
All I can say is pay attention to the coming shed
mark it on the calendar.

I agree with Larry. It could be. I also agree that it appears to be too high up the body as well. Ask me again in four months while I think about it...

Good luck!
