Scary Ghost

Morgans Boas Feb 03, 2009 05:43 PM

In 14 years, I've never had such an angry Boa. Truly a frightening Orangetail Ghost. She absolutely hates being handled, which always makes it interesting to clean her cage or change her water. These pics are after 10 minutes of wrestling with her.
It's too bad because she has really cool sides ---- Untamable

You may have already tried this, but I have had some success in getting "hard to handle" animals to calm down and at least tolerate handling by keeping them housed with other animals for extended periods. I like to keep males and females apart unless attempting breeding, so I'd put a such an animal in a large cage with a larger female, except when feeding of course. Something about having another non-threatening animal moving around and crawling over them for extended periods seems to make them more accepting of being touched and held...sometimes...

Good luck with her, I really like her looks!

Sorry to hear she's such an evil one, her sister is just fine, a real sweetie and proved out last year as a Super Ghost.
