OT: Surf and turf

Decided to give Jack a smorgasbord tonight. First course was a couple of fish, served up in a bowl. Next course was a rat. While it took him a while to find and catch the fish, amazingly enough when I went to check on him about 1/2 after the meal, he was poised on the edge of the bowl looking down into it, like he
was expecting more! He's a fast learner, considering this was the first time I put fish in that bowl.

Thanks,
Ed

Appetizer is served...

Hmmmm, looks good...

Tasted good, too!

I want more...

thats brilliant, did you tell the pet shop what the goldfish were for haha. Is this the first time you fed him live fish? and wondering, if you put them in a much much deeper container, would he wait until they came to the top, or will he enter the water after them?

He loves fish. I give him some goldfish every 4-6 weeks or so, but normally I feed him from the tongs. I did let him go "fishing" once before, and I did put the fish in his larger water bowl (a cat litter box) with deeper water. He aggressively went into the water to get them. He sort of sweeps his head back and forth in the water trying to find them. It took him a while to catch the fish, so it's a messy proposition and the cage got wet and trashed. That's why I put the fish in a small bowl with very little water this time.

Thanks,
Ed

Very cool pictures. I bet he'll expect fish from you every time now. You may have created a monster

Thanks. He's been eating fish for a while, but the problem now is I need to get larger fish! I think I need to take a trip to the bait shop.

Thanks,
Ed
