Ovulation..

JbuggFL Feb 03, 2009 10:35 PM

Ok.. Most of my females I believe are gravid and atleast 3 I believe have ovulated... Seems like my males have lost interest in the girls.. I been running them a week with a girl feed and a week housed alone. So my males haven't realy lost any weight and are still rested.. My questions are....

After ovulation should you stop putting the males with the females???????

Seems like the obviously gravid females want to be left alone......

Will a female ovulate even if not introduced to a male.. Or if they ovulate it means the male got the job done and you just have to then hope for viable eggs????????

After a female ovulates, the job is already done and there is no need to introduce males, at that point they are gravid. In my experiences, i've never had a female ovulate unless she's been with a male...not saying its impossible, but not likely. Now you're just waiting for the "pre-lay" shed and eggs! Good luck with you're clutches!
