Corn snake enclosure size...

Green_Ranger Feb 04, 2009 12:55 AM

I currently have a Reptarium R-22 (25lx14.5wx14.5tall) enclosure for my 2 year old corn, but am looking for something else, as this seems a little small. Should I buy the R-65: (30 x 16.5 x 28) or the R-100: 30 x 16.5 x 48?

At a minimum, I like the permiter of the cage to be twice the snake's length. So a 3 foot snake would be in a cage with floor space of 1 foot by two feet.

I agree. Give them room to stretch out a bit.
Have 3.2 in a homemade 3' x 2' x 2' with cork bark hide and some big rocks to sit on.

I think I'll go for the 65 gallon reptarium, then. I don't have a table big enough for the 100 gallon:P I measured her a second ago and she is exactly 3 ft. How large of a water bowl should she have, now? I have one in there that's about 12 inches by 7 inches. It's about 2 inches deep, but I think I need a deeper one, soon. Also, what kind of hides do you have in your setups? I have 2 ceramic logs, lots of ivy, a small cement brick for her to curl up on, and I had a cocounut in there, but she's too big for it, now. Need ideas. Here's a pic of her, from a few sheds ago.
